SUMMARY OF POST:
The role of a care worker is to perform duties and tasks to facilitate our customers to live at home in a safe, secure and comfortable way, that respects the dignity of the individual customers and promote their independence.
Some care workers might have to work in the Day care club supporting our customers to play and socialize in a comfortable, safe and monitored environment.

The care worker will be briefed before undertaking any assignment with specific tasks, but in every case, it is incumbent upon the care worker to carry out the work in a safe and professional way and to adhere to the specific instructions as well as the policies and procedure of the company.
Care workers are frequently the only people that a customer may see on a daily basis and it is the responsibility of the care worker to report any relevant information back to the supervisor. It is not the role of a care worker to become involved in notifying the family, friends or relative of changes.

Key competencies
Anyone who does not genuinely care about the welfare of other people will not be suitable for these posts. The company will provide uniform, identity badges and other equipment required to carry out the role e.g., disposable gloves and aprons.
Successful applicants will undergo a thorough induction-training for three days and a writing test to assess innumeracy and English language, which will be helpful for the QCF's. They will be required to take part in the monthly mandatory professional development training day for all staff of the company.
All care workers will be expected to sit for and pass the QCF 2 after 6 months in the company. The company will assist and support the staff to achieve their professional aim within reasonable period.
Please not that we celebrate our staff yearly. ‘The best staff of the year’ as voted by the clients, ‘The carers with no sick off in the year’ and ‘Best team worker’ will all be awarded gifts at the end of year.
CONTRACT AND SALARY
Every staff has a contract given after their successful interview and appointment to the posts. The care workers paid at the rate of £9.50-20 per hour as a tempo, but when on permanent jobs, are paid at annual rate.
